Author: As-Shaikh Al-Allaamah Al-Imaam ‘Abdur-Rahmaan Bin Naasir As-Sa’dee (رحمه اللّه)
All worship-whether it be hidden (concealed), like love for Allâh, fear of Him, hope in Him, trusting in Him, love of that which Allah loves from actions and individuals, and honoring that which Allâh has honored be it apparent like establishing the visible legislations of the prayer, charity, fasting, and the pilgrimage, whether it have a connection to the pure rights of Allâh or connected to the rights of the creation; like obedience to parents, keeping family ties, benevolence towards neighbors, companions, and the like, whether it be physical, monetary, or a combination of the two- all of that must posses sincerity for Allâh and imitation of Allâh's Messenger (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam). Consequently, for whomever Allâh joins these two fundamentals together is successful and happy, and whomever losses out on these two affairs or one of them loses a clear loss. And whoever was (sincere) sometimes and sometimes not is deserving of good, reward, and praise according to the amount of his sincerity and imitation (following the way of the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) be it a little, a lot, strong, or weak. Consequently, there is nothing more beneficial for the servant than the one who places sincerity and this imitation in front of him in everything that comes and goes and in everything that he says or does until sincerity is one of his qualities and imitation (of the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) is one of his characteristics, and every intention and goal which is contradictory to sincerity vanishes from his heart and he leaves every innovation in belief and action, preferring imitation of the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) over it. For indeed, the one who believes in the Messenger (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) in everything which he said, then he has freed himself from having innovated in beliefs and the one who confines himself to what the Messenger (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) has ordered him with from the acts of worship and does not prohibit what Allâh has allowed from the good things, then he has been saved from innovated actions.
