The Pillars of Islam &  The Meaning of The Testimony That  None Has The Right To Be Worshipped Except Allah

The Pillars of Islam are 5:

1-(The Shahaadah) The Testimony that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.

2-(As Salaat) Prayer

3-(Az Zakaat) Charity

4- (As Siyaam) Fasting (the month of) Ramadan.

5-(Al Hajj) Pilgrimage to Allah’s sanctified house for those who are able.

As for the meaning of (the first part of) the Shahaadah (The Testimony), then it is,

“None has the right to be worshipped except Allah.”

This is a negation of all that is worshipped excluding Allah and an affirmation that all forms of worship are for Allah (alone).  These two meanings (i.e. negation and affirmation) are the pillars of (the first part of the Shahaadah), “None has the right to be worshipped except Allah” – negation and affirmation.
