Translated by: Abu Abdil-Alīm Amīn Manning al Makki
Q: Some of the youth are in doubt about their affair! They don't know what they should do [or] who they should follow. They don't know the evil of division and of the groups/parties. So what is your advise?
A: Truth [will] not be distinguished from falsehood for them except [by way of] knowledge!
Firstly: Be sincere for Allah! [Have] resolve [in] his/[ones] heart upon loving the truth! And seeking the truth! Never be fanatic towards anyone, whoever they may be! Not his father, brother, not anyone! When he knows the truth by way of it's proofs and he finds the leaders of Islaam and the Salaf upon it; he [must] take [hold] of it and bite onto it with his molars! And when he knows that [something] is falsehood, he leaves it, even if his father, fore-fathers, teachers and scholars are upon it! He leaves this falsehood and he warns from it! Like [how] Allah sent all of the Messengers, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all. He sent with them books to warn from evil, [and] innovations, and the most evil of affairs are the new invent matters! When you find that an affair is (evil) [and] when you find an affair is (bid'ah), then it is upon you to leave it for Allah The Lord of all that exist!
[Thus], his allegiance is for Allah, he loves for Allah and he hates for Allah. He is sincere to Allah in (seeking knowledge)! He seeks knowledge from its pure sources. So what you have become aware of from the truth, then bite onto it with your molars! And [as for] that which is in it from falsehood, then avoid it and run away from it, [like] you [would] flee from a lion and warn others from it!
I add to that, taking [knowledge] from the trustworthy scholars [whom] the Sunnah has [been] attested to for them!
